Health is a big thing now adays, and even Konami, the creators of Dance Dance Revolution series, has stepped up to try and help out in our childhood obesity awareness.

The one game that send a trend and started sweeping the nation was Dance Dance Revolution, an arcade game that swept into our houses getting many kids and adults off the couches and on their feet. Konami is now trying to hit home with that and bring out more attention to the Childhood obesity problems that have been floating around. Everyone is getting involved from schools changing things inside their menus and vending machines, to now even our video gaming community.

Konami is hosting a Childhood Obesity Summit in West Virginia later this month, and following that is a Dance Dance Revolution tournament on its schedule.

“The popularity of Dance Dance Revolution in West Virginia is reshaping our youths’ mindset regarding what constitutes physical activity,” said West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin. “I am proud of the positive impact Dance Dance Revolution is having on family time with children and adults across the state.”

This Childhood Obesity Summit and DDR tournament will take place July 27th and 28th at the Embassy Suites in Charleston.
