Xbox has a firm stand to publish a large amount of indie motion-controlled games, preparing for the Christmas season.
Microsoft has been planning on releasing a series of Kinect-exclusive XBLA games in time to lead up this this years Christmas 2011.
Discussing with CVG on the topic of the continual “Summer of Arcade,” EMEA Xbox Live product marketing manager Robin Burrowes mentioned that there are many more exclusive titles that we can expect to see appearing on their platform in the future.
“I can’t give you those names today – we’ll announce them in due course – but you have the trust factor of the legacy of titles we’ve launched in the past” he said.
“Talking more specifically, expect to see more from us as we leverage the power of Kinect; expect to see a number of Kinect Arcade titles coming. We’re targeting a frequency of about one a month from the Xbox Live Arcade portfolio that will have Kinect integration. That will really be powerful and differentiate the platform.”
Burrowes also went on to discuss that integration with Live on the first wave of Kinect games was “perhaps not fully demonstrated.”
“The opportunity with the second wave of titles is fantastic, They’re really going to peak that connectivity between more obviously,” he added.
With some of the games expirimenting with facial recognition and other parts of the kinect I personally feel a bit excited to see some of the additions that they may be adding with their upcoming games.
