The media gave this game awful reviews concerning how they thought the game would be accepted by players, and the media should have waited until the public got their hands on Alice: Madness Returns before they assumed anything. Actual players received this game much better than was anticipated, and there was a good reason for this reception.
In the end of Alice: Madness Returns predecessor, Alice was released from the Asylum for Wayward and Lost Souls, and she went to live at the orphanage located in Victorian London, and she is being treated by her psychiatrist Angus Bumby, because she is still quite traumatized by the deaths of her parents. And thus the adventure begins anew for Alice, and Nurse Witless from the Rutledge Asylum, and of course the Cheshire Cat.
Concept
The concept of sending our beloved Alice back to Wonderland, to meet and interact with so many of her old friends, and enemies is definitely a new one. It was a brave soul indeed, who took a classic and expanded upon the tail, and invited us to come along and discover the secrets that Wonderland has to provide to Alice.
Graphics
When you download this game and begin to play you will find that you are expecting wonderful graphics that are as beautiful, and mesmerizing as the visual effects from the preceding game. You are not going to be disappointed in Alice: Madness returns and the visuals you will see. The developer kept a true scale of graphics so that the returning player would not be disappointed, and of course they wanted the new player to be impressed by what they would see.
Sound
I hate to admit that when we played this game, we rated the soundtrack to this one at 3.5, on a scale of 1 to 5, because, the sound quality just did not hold up to the quality of the original. Of course we should be judging this sequel on its own merits instead of comparing it to its predecessor, but that is hard to do, and we fell guilty of comparison playing.
Playability
The player will find some of the elements of the game play to be confusing at times, but that is to be expected in Wonderland. Most people will enjoy playing this version of the classic.
Entertainment
The basic storyline is good, and is interesting enough to make you wish to follow it. At times you seem to become irritated with the fact that you seem to be drifting off course, and the story is not developing the way you want, but if you will stay with the game, then you will find it picks its momentum back up quickly.
Replay Value
I expect plenty of people to disagree with the fact that we are saying this game has a lot of replay value to it. There are so many different quests to accomplish, and the player will often forget about some of them. When you start to play the game for the second, or third time, you will start to remember all the different aspects of the game, and the maneuvers it requires for you to complete the quests.

I’m actually really excited for this, I had it preordered but never got to pick it up, darnit! The original game was a dream.
The game was pretty good, especially if you played the original game.
This game is amazing. Buy it.
