Eufloria is in the category of real time strategy games. A player must commit to playing, and returning at timely intervals in order to progress in the game, and complete each given task. For people who enjoy these involved types of games, Eufloria is a good one to become a part of.
The Concept
In Eufloria you are living in the future, and you are the commander and the creator of plants and trees that are robotic. You will be sent instructions from the mother tree, and you will need to carry out these instructions in order for you to discover where the mysterious grey menace originated from. During your search for these origins, you will be battling against empires, and attempting to make the mythical growers return faster.
Graphics
You will find that the graphics in Eufloria are really quite simple. The design style is not enthralling. You can however, change the color of the environment you are creating to personalize the game.
Sound
The music that is played throughout the game is relaxing, and has a calming effect; making this a good game to play when you wish to unwind after a long day.
Playability
Anyone can master the skills required for the play of this game with ease. From young players to old, there are very few things you have to master that are harder than clicking the mouse. You will be planting trees, and nurturing the plants. Your plants can be powerful protectors that can defend you against enemies with such weapons as laser mines, and even suicidal explosions when necessary.
These seedlings will also grow and defend against asteroids that belong to your enemies. Over a period of time the plants you can grow will increase in strength, and the game will allow for you to have more plants at one time.
Entertainment
Although the game has a very simple design style, you will find it highly enjoyable, if you like strategy games, and continuing game play. Not everyone does well with continuing games, but those of you who do will find Eufloria entertaining, and some say addictive.
You quickly become enthralled in creating the different things necessary to complete the instructions that the mother tree sends. You begin to care about how your little seedlings are fairing, and will find yourself checking up on them from time to time.
Replay Value
Because this is a strategy game that has you return daily, often several times a day, in order to build your army of robotic trees, and plants, there is really no replay value. You play the game following the mother tree instructions to the final round of game play. Reaching this final round will take you a long time. For the majority of players, once they reach the end of a strategy game they are ready to move on to another game, but some people do like to repeat the game, and make different choices, thus changing the things that happen in their future world.
