If you desire to play a game where you go through a medieval time riding a horse, and fighting battles at the side of soldiers with whom you are directly responsible for their training, and you pay them now to take up a lance, a bow, or a javelin, or to wield a sword with you during the many, many battles of a game. You are going to love this, more especially if the story line does not need to be all that intriguing for you to have the desire to exist in the fantasy of the game, and defeat the enemies you encounter.
Concept
The concept of a knight in medieval times, mounted on a warhorse, traveling through the countryside that contains five separate kingdoms, and scores of lords in castles, and villages to see, plunder, or defend, is not a new concept, but it is a good one. Now the execution of the concept was where the troubles began for this game.
There is something of a slow start to the game, and the story does not really catch your interest at first. Okay at first you feel like you are wandering around lost as a blind goose in a thunderstorm. But, do not give up on the game, stick with it for just a little while and you will forget that the beginning bored you to tears. The game does pick up speed and you cannot help but get caught up in it.
Graphics
The quality and style of the graphics that were used during the creation of this game, are dated, old, used up, dull, boring, and they serve their purpose. You have seen it all before, and you will not be impressed with them this time, but they do get the point across, and this is supposed to be a game not a movie. Try to overlook the tired old visual effects, and concentrate on the numerous battles you need to fight before you complete the game.
Sound
The sound quality is as old and tired as the graphics, and maybe even worse.
Playability
There is a good idea here, at the games start you are required to fill in your own story to determine your skills. You are in control of the history your character had, and you decide if they were born of noblemen, or if they were the child of a thief. Maybe you would rather have been a merchant/s child, or a wild cat kind of kid. All the decisions you make at this point in the game will determine things about the character you will be playing as, and the skills you will need to execute the required tasks. The end result to this is for the game to be left playable by all.
Entertainment
The story line needs some improving, but for all the people who make it past the dull start to the game, there is a reward of good, entertaining fun in store. A lot of times we are too quick to judge things, and because of this we miss out on a good many enjoyments that life, and games hold in store for us. This game is one of those times when you need to be patient, persistent, and dedicated.
Replay Value
There is a yes and a no in this category of rating. On the one hand the story is slow to take off, the graphics are not impressive, and we could do without the sound. On the other hand you get to choose the background of your character, and you get to change the game with the choices you make. You get to fight many battles, and playing the second time merely makes those battles more fun.
