The people who like to play adventurous games that allow you to shoot, and fight your way out of dangerous situations will love the F.E.A.R. 1-3 series. Just to add to the excitement you will also be treated to horror effects, and villains with faces not even their mother could love.
It is advised that you begin playing these games at the beginning with F.E.A.R. and that you progress through the trilogy in sequence. This will provide you with the most in depth game play, and with the best understanding of the game.
Concept
In this game you are a member of the elite military regimen the First Encounter Assault Recon. This group is one of the military’s secret task forces, and particularly this one deals with the paranormal forces that the government does not want civilians to be aware of.
The first game began with you joining the F.E.A.R. task force and with an insane military commander taking a group of cloned soldiers that have a telepathic link to the commander, and attacking an American city. You do not know why they are doing this, but the task force and the Delta Force, are going to do everything in their power to discover the reasoning behind this assault, and prevent further destruction.
The original idea for the game was a good one. People love the game, and they quickly became enthralled in the story line. Once a player has become infatuated with a story line, and a set of characters, they anxiously await the arrival of a continuation of the story. Much like readers of a book await the next edition to complete the visual story in their head.
F.E.A.R. 2 did not disappoint the loyal following that F.E.A.R. had established among players of this games genre. The players immediately snatched up the second version and began to play with their favorite characters, weapons, and villains once again. When the game was over the players had not nearly had all of F.E.A.R. they wanted, and the design team gave them F.E.A.R. 3 to quench their thirst for this action packed, horror filled, and suspenseful game.
Graphics
The graphics that were designed for the game are amazing, and the visual effects are so real that you will sometimes swear you can smell the scent of the smoke after the gun has been fired. You can really believe the scene in front of you could be a real place, with real action happening in it.
Several players were asked to rate this games graphics using a scale of 1 to 5. They were instructed to consider five to be the best score that the game could receive. So they gave the graphics a surprising 6.0. Really all the players found the graphics to be exceptional, and to exceed the demands they had.
Sound
The majority of players also like the soundtrack made for this trilogy of games. You will be impressed by the timing of the sounds to correspond with the visual effects of the weapons firing, and of the death cries being screamed out in anguish.
Playability
A player will need a little time, and practice, in order for you to master using the weapons in the game, and to master maneuvering through the game. While it is very nice to not have a map on the corner of your screen blocking your view of the entire playing field, you will sometimes wish there was a map present to help you navigate from place to place.
Entertainment
The F.E.A.R. 1-3 series of games is some of the most entertaining games that have been developed for any gaming console, or for the PC. Players will get involved in the concept, as well as the execution of necessary activities to complete the objective of the game.
Replay Value
The majority of the time the replay value of a shooter game like this is very low, because most people do not want to return to play level one of the first edition after they master the weapons and skills needed for the final level in the third edition. The difference with this game is the ability to have a multi player option that can create changes in the exact play of the game. You will definitely want to play this game more than once.
