Mortal Kombat 9

Mortal Kombat. The name of this franchise roams through the halls of our memories, and brings up some very familiar feelings. Like the testosterone boosting feelings of ripping a person’s spine from the rest of their bodies and having their blood shower over you.

The game is a great rebirth of the original fighting mechanics and and fatalities along with the new additions of the absolutely brutal X-Ray attack, where you can watch as you pulverize your opponents insides and outsides.

The graphics for this game are nominal and the giggle factor is enough to keep most of the targeted 16-25 age group enthralled, and the violence is enough to keep almost any one who enjoyed the game or any other brutal fighting game entertained.

In the world of over-the-top, Mortal Kombat takes the organ covered and blood splattered cake. Over-the-top attacks, over-the-top combos, and over-the-top over-the-topness. And that is what made the franchise popular in the first place.

The graphics are great, the game play is amazing and the combos are easy to learn, the only downsides are that some of the characters are over-powered, and are the obvious choice, and it kinda puts players into a spot where they either have to master every character and memorize every button push, or else only be able to use maybe 4 characters.

The replay value on the game is pretty high, but only if you are can stand the bad acting on top of a good rework of the canon story. The story line can take anywhere from 4 hours to 6 hours depending on your skill level, and the rest of the game is great for just massacring your friends or unlocking the stories of the collective characters.

Most of all, this game is a what will put Mortal Kombat back on track and not suck anymore.

This game gets a 4.5/5.
