Players cannot help but love the almost childlike qualities this game possesses. The World of Goo is amusing, and intriguing, as you attempt to build and create bridges and other structures by making balls of goo stick together to create the shape you need.

It is actually rather difficult to explain the fascination you feel with this game, and the satisfaction you receive as you work your way through all of the levels that make up the five chapters of the game. Reading a description might cause someone who has never played this to think they would rather pass on the opportunity to try it. It is almost a guarantee that if you try you will buy.

Concept
The concept of the game is unique, and we have decided that since it is so creative we will actually give this game a score of 5.0 on a scale of 1 to 5. How many games allow you to play with, much less build things out of goo?

During game play you must become quite proficient at shooting the goo at other pieces of goo, across openings between pieces of land, so you can build a bridge. You cannot advance through the many levels without completing the desired goo construction tasks.

Graphics
The graphics are not all that. You will not feel like you are actually there touching the goo, but in a way this can be a good thing. You are more reminded of the graphics that would be seen while you were watching a Tim Burton film. The drawings can at times look misshapen, and even appear a little dark and sinister. Overall you will enjoy the graphics, and you will not be able to imagine the game being improved by higher quality graphic design.

Sound
The soundtrack can be thought of as annoying, and we decided we were certainly going to give The World of Goo a 3.5 on the sounds it makes during play. Not all the sounds are distracting, but at times you will find the background noise quite frustrating.

Playability
In order to score a very high score on the points system we are using, a game must allow for anyone to be able to play without them having to be an expert game player. This game provides game play that is challenging, but fun, and the skills you need, will develop through the playing of the individual levels in each chapter of the game.

Entertainment
This is one of the simplest yet most enduring games you will play. It is very entertaining, and you will find that it is almost addictive.

Replay Value
You will find that like the plumber we once loved, you know the one that ate mushrooms to grow, and rode on a dinosaur, this game will be one that you repeatedly play so that you can become better at the building with the goo. Sometimes the simple ideas are the ones that entertain us the very most.
